Renowned architect and luxury hotel developer Fernando Campillo announced today that construction had completed for IKAL Living, the newest luxury community in Playacar. IKAL Living is a group of 15 homes each with private pools nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac and surrounded by a groomed jungle canopy. Just a ten minute walk from two secluded beaches and Playa del Carmen's famous Avenida Quinta, IKAL Living borders Playacar's championship golf course.

Strolling around the property and the designers style is quickly recognizable as in their hotels. The site is carefully planned around the old growth Mayan jungle. Walkways were weaved around existing trees where possible and in some cases patios or decks were simply cut out to make room for the existing flora. The strategy creates a natural feel to the space and also greatly enhances its privacy.

Campillo together with the Prohotel International are veteran designers of luxury hotels both in the area and worldwide. They created Ikal del Mar on Playa Xcalacoco beach prior to selling it to the Tides, Riviera Maya. Next, they created and currently operate Esencia Estate on Playa Xpu-Ha, a luxury hotel that was once the residence of an actual Italian duchess.

"Construction quality at IKAL Living was a priority and is uncommon to the area," said Campillo. Indeed, from the solid steel and concrete construction to the renewable Camaru decking hardwood outside, no expense was spared during the build out. "Also, as the last community on the cul-de-sac, we avoided building in phases, instead constructing the entire community at once, so home owners wouldn't be bothered with construction noise and debris," added Campillo.

With the completion of IKAL Living, Campillo is moving on to Mendoza, Argentina for Prohotel's next project 1150 Wines, a luxury vineyard estate where owners will participate in the production of fine wines and are already producing an award winning Malbec.

IKAL Living homes range in size from range in size from 1,900 ft2 to 2,000 ft2 (178 m2 to 185 m2) with additional outdoor living space including private pools. The homes are available in two or three bedrooms. There are five buildings and each home occupies the entire floor of the building. There are three levels per building, Garden, Terrace, and Penthouse. The Penthouse occupies two levels and its upper level includes a large pool and outdoor living space. From there you can see the crystal blue water of the Caribbean Sea.

As members of the Playacar resort community, home owners enjoy ample activities. The championship golf course, visible from all units, was designed and built under supervision by renowned architect Robert Von Hagge.
